Chrysler Introduces Lifetime Powertrain Warranties

In what is easily the boldest move in new vehicle warranties, Chrysler has introduced lifetime powertrain warranties on nearly all new Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep vehicles, effective yesterday, July 26th 2007.

Such a warranty is a first in the industry, and shows consumers just how dedicated the Chrysler group has become regarding product quality and customer satisfaction.

Vehicles sold from 7/26/07 onward (with the exception of some models)will qualify for this lifetime powertrain warranty. In order to maintain the contract, owners must have the vehicle inspected every five years at their Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep dealership. The warranty is non-transferrable, applying only to buyers and lessees of new Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep vehicles.

Drive My Demo: Over $4,000 Off This Nissan Murano SL

As much as it pains me to turn in my demo Murano, its time has come. I babied this glacier pearl-on-cafe latte 2007 Nissan Murano SL AWD for 5,200 miles, and I’d have to say that it was the most enjoyable vehicle I’ve driven out of our entire fleet.

Fortunately however, my loss is your gain: this loaded Murano originally stickered for $36,820, with Intelligent Key, heated leather seats with memory, sunroof, backup camera. adjustable-level HID headlights, and a whole slew of other options… and now we’re letting it go for $32,702, which is more than $4,100 off the original selling price! Remember also that a demo model is a brand new vehicle, with the original warranty still intact. The car has never been titled or registered, and years from now when you put the vehicle up for resale, there will be no discernable difference between this Murano and any other that could have been bought with no original mileage.

Hyundai Veracruz Beats Lexus RX350

What kind of PR stunt is this, you say?

No stunt. Motor Trend magazine pitted the all-new, seven-passenger Hyundai Veracruz Limited AWD against the benchmark for crossover SUVs: the Lexus RX350. When the showdown was complete, the magazine’s editors declared the Veracruz the winner… regardless of price, where the Hyundai had a $10,000 savings advantage.
