Tax Benefits for Businesses: IRS Section 179

If you’re a business owner, you’re probably aware that you can write off the depreciation of your business vehicle as an expense. But did you know that IRS Section 179 Expense Allowance can often qualify you for a deduction on the actual cost of new vehicles over 6,000 pounds (GVWR)?

The IRS amendment limits expense to $25,000 for eligible vehicles. For our dealer group, this includes vehicles such as the Dodge Ram, Dodge Dakota, Dodge Sprinter line, multiple Jeep products, Nissan Armada, Nissan Pathfinder, and Nissan Titan, among other models. Vehicles coming in at under 6,000 pounds GVWR don’t qualify for Section 179, limiting the first year deduction for depreciation to $3,060.

Consult your financial advisor if you think your business could benefit from Section 179, and then contact the JelMAC store of your choice to take advantage of these opportunities!

New Eye Candy From Dodge, Chrysler And Jeep

The Chrysler Group has just released some very interesting concept sketches of vehicles supposedly slated to debut at the Detroit International Auto Show this coming January.

Dodge Zeo:
Dodge ZEO
The word on the Dodge Zeo is that it is powered exclusively by lithium-ion batteries, making it an intriguing blend of crossover style and high-mpg capability.

Chrysler EcoVoyager:

Given the name of this concept, you have to wonder what new technologies might be in store for the future of Chrysler’s people-movers… this EcoVoyager concept runs off a combination of battery and hydrogen power.

Jeep Renegade:
Jeep Renegade
The legendary Renegade name lives on here with the latest concept from Jeep… an ultimate two-seat off-roader with an intentional nod to classic dune buggy designs.

Good stuff!

The Dodge Sprinter Van… New Millenium Hippie Mobile?

The NY Times posted an interesting article recently about the versatile and utilitarian Dodge Sprinter Van that puts a whole new spin on things… a tie-dye spin, perhaps.

Apparently the Benz-engineered Dodge Sprinter has emerged from its intended business and mass-transit markets to become the modern day choice for those hippies-at-heart who have now grown up to run businesses and enjoy the entrepreneurial life.

Private buyers are customizing these Sprinter Vans to no end, all for the sake of walking that fine line between cross-country RVing and private jet-setting. A very interesting take on the Sprinter, indeed!

Read the entire NY Times Dodge Sprinter article here, and see more about the Dodge Sprinter by visiting Dodge.com or our Dodge Of Paramus BusinessLink page.

The awesome Dodge Demon convertible concept that debuted at the Geneva Auto Show in March is looking to be right on track for production.

In a recent interview, Trevor Creed (Chief Of Design for the Chrysler Group) gave a very positive outlook for the Demon’s likelihood of production. The Viper-esque convertible concept is powered by a 172hp 4-cylinder, and there has been talk of a 300hp SRT4 version.
